Weddings that are not my own

Last month was busy. As in, I got married and then so did my best friend. Funny, no? We have done a lot of things together so, when we both found ourselves engaged with upcoming wedding dates, I couldn’t help but laugh. Two weeks after my own nuptials, I left for the other side of the country — one of my shortest trips to date (a whole 36 hours!) — to attend one of my best friend’s weddings. It was so lovely, and really, it was nice to see so many people I’ve missed for so long. And, for the ones who made it to my wedding, too, I got to see them twice in one month. So, that’s doubly good.

  2. Easter Sunday in Central Park North!

    Easter Sunday in the Park

It was a rough weekend over here for us. Did I say us? I meant just me. Bad weekends always creep in at the most inconvenient time, but really, when would be convenient? Whenever they do come though I’m really thankful I can escape with Matthew to Central Park with its always-beautiful weather for a walk, just in time to catch all the adorable kids out in their Easter best. And right before it turned into one of those forget to put the cheese in the lasagna and the Coke bottle exploded and it’s all over the walls and ceiling kind of days. But hey, some times things happen. And life (and cheesy lasagna!) is still really good.

    The Weekend

After banking on Mother Nature for another beautiful weekend (spoiler alert: didn’t happen) Matthew and I snuck up to the roof of my building to take some photos in the chilly and cloudy weather. As it turns out that even with cable wires and cigarette butts every where you look, this city somehow still ends up looking pretty. Ah, New York, you and your photogenic abilities!

And just as a treat, here’s some photographic evidence of us at our best.

    Happy Sunday!

    The Good and Bad

You see, being engaged is great. People always want to congratulate you. For the first few weeks people even always want to do things like buy you dinner. And, YOU GUYS, it was great.

But being engaged occasionally has its downsides, too. Particularly the times you have to take a whole day, travel to New Jersey, and letterpress your wedding invitations.

OH WAIT, IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.
