Hot, Hot Heat
It’s been insanely hot for about the past week or so. We’ve given up on energy efficiency (that’s fancy lingo for the fact we’re cheap and using an A/C isn’t) and turned on the cool air. The heat has also made us get more creative with our hydration than water because, as it turns out, water gets boring, but aguas (flavored waters) are like manna from Heaven. Fresh juice, water, and a bit of sugar. Yesterday Matthew made a batch of agua de límon before dinner and my soul rejoiced.
The heat has also made me do other crazy things, like one day last week. I deleted my Google Reader. Or, more accurately, I emptied all of the subscriptions from my Reader. I know it’s nothing novel, and that plenty do so every day. But, if you’d be so kind, I’d love to tell you how great it feels. Ready? Okay.
IT FEELS GREAT.
There, that’s it. The convenience of the whole operation was a big drive for my using it, but as it turns out, the Internet is a lot more than text. I whittled down the list of sites I frequent. And now I actually visit the sites, through an Internet browser. It’s like the world is beautiful again. I see websites, and I’m no longer a I’m-bored-check-my-Reader kind of person. So people of the world, join me. Life is good on the other side.
